The Foodie Bugle, Bath

21 Mar 2017

Now I love a bit of louche luxe but there’s something about simply designed, useful things that I just can’t resist – and The Foodie Bugle, just around the corner from the Roman Baths and Bath Abbey on Abbey Green, is filled with them. It’s a cornucopia of home wares, contemporary and vintage – everything from a ball of string to a beautifully upholstered armchair – and interesting artisan foods and drink.

All that glisters is gold, silver, red, green, pink…

6 Oct 2016

OK, OK, it’s October and I’m talking Christmas but when you see what I’ve got in store for you (or rather, what Kilver Court has got in its store for us all), I think you’ll be rather pleased that I am.  Mulberry founder Roger Saul’s designer outlet in Shepton Mallet has just opened up their Christmas shop – and it’s chock-a-block with all sorts of Christmas dex, from kitsch through to Scandi and everything in between.

So I was really excited to discover the fabulous Fiat Lux in Frome. Fiat lux is Latin for ‘let there be light’ (but of course you knew that) and at night the shop looks beautiful.

Minimalist interiors shop. Not.

20 Mar 2016

When someone recommended a visit to a shop that was ‘the Liberty (as in the famous Regent’s Street store) of Wiveliscombe’,  I smiled, nodded and thought ‘yeah, right…’ So I headed out there, and this is what I found…
