5 cool looks for your Christmas tree - from OTT glamour to as pure as the driven snow
Every year, everyone chez Muddy gets to choose a new Christmas decoration for the tree. This is why (any Christmas-tree-dex-ologists out there, take note) we’ve got the complete history of Xmas tree dex from the 1970s to the present day contained in four huge boxes in our loft (all serious offers considered). Some years, we pile everything on but this year, we’re theming. We’ve narrowed it down to one of these five…
THE GLAM TREE
We’re talking opulent here: rich jewelled colours, baubles and decorations made from handblown glass, copper, covered in velvet, sparkling with sequins and glitter. Good excuse to get a party dress to match.
THE WILD AT HEART TREE
Think berries, toadstools and all sorts of furry little creatures, from deers to hedgehogs. Maybe balance a few fir cones dusted with a bit of DIY glitter in amongst the branches too?
THE OH YES IT IS! TREE
The Muddies’ favourite. Fairy godmothers, ballerinas, nutcrackers, Puss in Boots or create your own Fantasy panto – an ice skating pig in a wig, anyone?
THE SUBTLE SCANDI TREE
Corrugated concertina Christmas trees and baubles, lanterns, simple candles in muted colours – and you must have a big paper star (everyone in Sweden will).
THE PURE AS THE DRIVEN SNOW TREE
Keep it simple – white lights, silver and clear glass baubles, strands of silvery tinsel and a few quirky little figurines. Love this skating rabbit.
