Mamma Mia, Bristol Hippodrome, Fri 25 March-Sat 7 May

MAMMA MIA! International Tour

Did you know that the London production of Mamma Mia has been seen by 10 percent of the entire UK population?  And that the show was the first western musical ever to be seen in China? You can catch the ultimate feelgood musical about lurve, family and friendship on an idyllic Greek island and hum along to ABBA at the Bristol Hippodrome on the show’s first UK tour.

x_1100Handsome prince falls in love with woman who’s swan by day and beautiful woman by night, and then complicates matters even further by accidentally proposing to her evil double at a party. It doesn’t all come right in the end but you’ll love being put through the wringer by the wonderful Vienna Festival Ballet and glorious music by Tchaikovsky at The Brewhouse this weekend.

Over at the Theatre Royal, Playwright Alex Dennison (Robert Daws, The Royal, Poldark) is heartbroken when his fiance commits suicide on the opening night of her stage debut; a year later the same cast and crew are gathered for a reading of his new play. Turns out Alex believes Monica was murdered and the new play is a ploy to uncover her killer.

The Dave Newton Trio with The Three Tenors, Ilminster Arts Centre, Fri 25 March
