Muddy says – all kinds of exciting activities on the sea, on rivers and on dry land – from stand-up paddleboarding to moonlit runs – for kids of all ages and adults
Stand-up paddlingboarding (SUP), sit on top kayaking, canoeing, swimming and coasteering (jumping, swiming, scrambling along the coastline), on the sea at Minehead, on the river Tone in Taunton and down on the coast near Torquay. There’s fun to be had on dry land too: archery, tree climbing and axe and knife throwing. All under the expert guidance of Channel Adventure’s fully qualified instructors at The Adventure Centre in Minehead and COACH, Taunton – with all equipment and wetsuits provided.
You can try most activities in one-hour Give it a Go sessions, with Progression sessions for those who want to develop their skills, 1:1 lessons and two-hour kayak, canoe and SUP tours around Minehead Bay or on the river Tone. Activity days in the school holidays.
For groups: inflatable rafting, mega SUP, bush craft, orienteering, katakanu (two canoes joined together to form a catamaran) and more.
Hen and stag packages too, involving most of the above with booze, marshmallows, chocolate…
This Autumn, join them for wild swims by moonlight in rivers and in the sea and a night run as part of the Exmoor Dark Skies Festival.
Competitive types into mountain biking, long distance walking and running and the like, will want to check out their upcoming events.
