Muddy says – an eclectic range of fair trade furniture, lighting and home accessories from around the world, all ethically sourced and fairly priced
Georgie Hopkins and Simon Whitehead of Myakka have travelled the world in their quest to find high quality, affordable and fabulous fair trade furniture. The result? An eclectic collection of sustainable, solid wood furniture, lighting and colourful kilims, cushions and other home accessories for every room in the house. Every single item is ethically sourced.
Fair trade means negotiating fair and proper prices and building up strong working relationships with artisans and small manufacturers, in this case, all over India, Vietnam and Thailand.
Myakka furniture is made from richly grained sheesham, mango, monkey pod and reclaimed pine. Don’t know what monkey wood or sheesham look like? Me neither. That’s why they’re happy to send you some free samples.
What do they stock? What do you need? I’d say they’ve got all bases pretty much covered: armchairs and sofas, beds and chests of drawers, storage of every kind, kilims and rugs in all shapes and sizes, lamps, lampshades, mirrors, sideboards, shelves, coffee tables – there’s even a wine cabinet.
Whatever your style – rustic, retro, contemporary, Eastern, urban, plain, ornate, colourful – I reckon you’ll find it here.
Want your goods delivered? No matter how many items you order, there’s only one delivery charge per order.
Happy shopping – with a clear conscience.
