Muddy says – cutting edge treatments, state-of-the-art products, holistic therapies and luxurious rustic retreat, all rolled into one at this beauty salon in Somerset’s Mendip Hills
Repeatedly voted among the best beauty salons in the country, The Barn offers cutting edge treatments, state-of-the-art products and holistic therapies all dedicated to the wellbeing of the mind, body and the soul. Everything’s totally personalised. And it all takes place in a beautifully restored 400-year-old L-shaped barn in the Somerset village of Loxton up in the Mendip Hills.
Come for treatments to help you relax, rejuvenate and unwind; to feel special, pampered and gorgeous. The Barn itself is also an incredibly calming place to just be. Part of that is the simplicity of the interior – airy rooms, original flagstones, old oak beams, floor-to-ceiling glass with views out to the magnificent Crook Peak, the inimitable Barn style – but it’s also the atmosphere created by hands-on director and entrepreneur extraordinaire, Kelly Hooper. Her vision? To offer an experience of total luxury and relaxation, to take the stress away from living and help people to escape – however briefly – the boundaries of every day life. And she’s managed to do just that.
Kelly herself works as a therapist and wedding make up specialist, alongside her team of hand-picked experts, including an acupuncturist, a healer, a nutritional therapist, a semi-permanent make-up artist and a threading guru.
Did you know that the Barn’s one of only a handful of salons in the UK to be part of the exclusive Dermalogica Circle Group? Take a seat at the marble table in the Skin Bar, surrounded by wooden shelves reclaimed from Weston Pier, to explore with their therapists what’s really best for you, your skin and wellbeing. Choose from holistic therapies to advanced cosmetic procedures.
Enjoy super-charged treatments, bespoke signature and spa rituals, combining the most modern plant chemistry with their natural organic cosmetic system, Sacred Nature.
For the ultimate in relaxation, treat yourself to a mineral soak in their beautiful raw copper bath, with candles and pots of mineral salts, aromatic fresh herbs, essential oils and flower petals. Don’t mind if I do.
Come for an hour or so or come for the whole day; either way you’ll leave wanting to return again – soon.
