A charming, traditional thatched pub in the heart of the unspoilt village of Babcary, The Red Lion is owned by Charlie and Clare Garrard who have run the pub for 15 years.  Conveniently close to the A303 and A37 for stopovers on the way to the deepest West Country or day trips to visit schoolchildren in the local area, the pub is well-known for its regional beers and local ciders along with a first-class wine list.  With a reputation for its a la carte menu, Sunday roasts, burgers and wood-fired pizzas, The Red Lion offers a carefully thought out menu which is changed regularly according to the season, using fresh ingredients and locally sourced suppliers.  Customers are welcome in the cosy pub area with roaring winter fires, the more formal dining room with dark beams and an inviting atmosphere or an al fresco lunch in the sunny garden.  We even like dogs!

Wedding receptions or large parties can be held in the light and spacious marquee with capacity of up to 120 depending on the layout.  The Den is very popular for private dinners up to 20.  There are six beautifully designed boutique bedrooms for guests to stay in twin, double or superior rooms (with a sofa bed for children).
