Eleanor Christine Jewellery
Muddy says: Bold, edgy gold and silver jewellery using precious stones, all handmade by the super talented Ellie in her Frome workshop
Eleanor designs and creates bold, edgy, sculptural jewellery working with silver and gold, often with the inclusion of unique stones. Many of the pieces reflect her love of Roman and medieval jewellery – her preference is for stones cut with old techniques set in chunky, hand-hewn settings.
She is inspired by the materials themselves – by the shape of a stone, the hammered effects on the metal. Not a fan of overly finished, polished metal – Eleanor likes texture and contrast. Her work isn’t subtle – it demands to be seen.
Each piece is unique, with a lot of her work coming from bespoke commissions. She also creates new contemporary designs from old jewellery – using the stones and metal from inherited jewellery for example. This started when she was asked to create a ‘divorce ring’ using the now unworn wedding band and engagement ring!
Eleanor will also consider wedding band workshops for those romantic couples who want to come and spend the day with her creating their rings.
