One of our favourite Bath restaurants, Henry’s restaurant, in a Georgian townhouse on Saville Row close to the Assembly Rooms, is an intimate place with simple decor and superb food.
Chef Henry Scott draws on his West Country roots (he was born and raised in Warminster) and his experiences travelling and working as a chef around the world to create innovative modern menus.
So you get dishes like Cornish crab with mooli radish, coriander and yuzu dressing; marinaded chicken breast, smoked bacon and wild mushrooms on a peanut and lime puree; and Thai basil parfait with coconut puree marinaded strawberries and meringues. See what we mean?
Just as much thought and creativity goes into their full vegetarian menu (this isn’t a place where they slip in a couple of veggie dishes into the main menu to keep non-meat eaters happy). We love the sound of panko quail egg with smoked potato and truffle, and the sweet and sour lentils with herb puree, roast artichokes and salsify.
Enjoy a la carte or a four-course kitchen’s choice. Wine by the glass and by the bottle. The service matches the excellence of the food.
