Dedicated to supporting the wealth of artistic talent in Somerset and the West Country, the Heritage Courtyard Gallery and Studios in Wells puts on innovative, contemporary exhibitions of work by local and nationally recognised artists, has ten working artists’ studios and runs creative workshops and courses for all levels of ability.
Run by founder and director Heather Wallace and director Rebecca Barnard, their aim is to ‘create a space with a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere, ensuring that all who visit, be it for classes or exhibitions, will feel a part of our growing artists’ community.’ And we think they’ve cracked it…
Exhibitions throughout the year with accompanying talks, live music concerts and more.
Some of Somerset’s finest artists, makers and designers at work in their studios.
A rolling programme of creative classes and workshops for all levels and in a range of media, from three-day painting workshops, relief clay and print-making to beginners’ oils.
You can apply to hire the gallery space for your own exhibitions and creative workshops too.
During exhibitions, the gallery is open from Tues to Sat 10am – 4pm. You can visit the artists’ studios at other times when the artists are there or by appointment.
Come and be inspired.
