Kilver Court Designer Village
Muddy says – If you’re into designer fashion, interiors and other lifestyle stuff, a visit to Kilver Court Designer Village is like being a kid in a candy store.
Located in an old Victorian factory on the edge of Shepton Mallet, the family run biz (founder Roger Saul, retail director wife Monty and CEO son Freddie) sells a constantly updated selection of over 50 designer brands.
There’s an eclectic mix of fashion and accessories for men and women, including Mulberry, Whistles, TOAST and JOSEPH – all with up to 60 per cent off – and with new labels added all the time. Their Paul Smith sales are legendary.
The Great House is mostly about the home, with a fab selection of artisan food and drinks on the ground floor and a warren of rooms onwards and upwards filled with furniture, kitchen and homewares, lighting, gifts and beauty – all discounted designer brands.
Look for unusual plants in the Garden Nursery and quirky, high end garden paraphenalia in the Wiggly Shed Shop.
Rest and recuperate in the Harlequin Cafe (tea, coffee cake, light lunches by the fireside) or the Sharpham Pantry Restaurant (seasonal lunches and wine based around spelt) – or maybe a stroll around the pretty 3.5 acre garden with its 19th century viaduct, parterre and 100m herbaceous border (there’s a small entrance fee).
Oh and you can get hitched there, too.
