North Cadbury Court
Muddy says: This spectacular 16th century country house set in 1,500 acres of Somerset countryside could be yours, all yours!
Rent your very own stately home for a couple of days or more – North Cadbury Court is the ultimate venue for reunions, celebrations and, of course, romantic country house weddings all year round.
With an historic wood panelled reception hall, an elegant ballroom overlooking the grounds, lounges with open fires, a dining room, library and billiards room and sleeping up to 50 people in 21 bedrooms (plus 4 in an annex), guests can do their own thing as well as come together, whether that’s to wed, party, dine, dance, chill or do yoga (this would be a great place to hold a retreat).
There’s plenty to do inside and out with an indoor pool, spa and gym, underground disco and casino, tennis courts, croquet lawns, bumper balls on the lawn, archery and a lake for fishing or pedalos. You can even have drinks up on the roof and tee off onto a little golf course below. The views across to Cadbury Camp, reputed home of King Arthur’s Camelot, are incredible.
They’ll organise banquets, dinner parties and all your catering or you can DIY in the vast kitchen – it’s totally flexible.
Weddings: get married in the house, the grounds, in the village church at the end of the drive or receptions only.
Foodies: the house is owned by the family who make the famous Montgomery Cheddar. Cheese tastings and visits to see the truckles maturing can be arranged.
Perfect for weddings, big birthdays, family and friends reunions, retreats, team building, conferences, training and more.
North Cadbury Court is about 1 hour 40 by train from Paddington or Waterloo and coming by road, just off the A303, not far from Sherborne.
