Safe and Sound Shooting
Muddy says: Family-run clay pigeon shooting and more for the whole family – kids, teens, adult novices and experts – near Pensford, just outside Bristol
Shooting a clay target – the pigeon or ‘bird’ – may be an Olympic sport but at Safe and Sound Shooting anyone can learn how to do it.
Father and son team Max and Andy Tarr offer tailor-made clay pigeon shooting, archery and air rifle activities – all protective gear and equipment provided – for novices and experts alike at Braces Shooting Ground, near Pensford, about 7 miles south of Bristol.
Fully qualified professionals accredited with the national governing body for clay pigeon shooting, the Clay Pigeon Shooting Association (CPSA) as well as the Association of Professional Shooting Instructors (APSI), Max and Andy have over 50 years’ experience between them. Impressive.
Whether you want to try shooting for the very first time or hone existing skills, you can choose from one-to-one and group tuition and they can tailor the session to your own requirements.
Kids as young as eight can have a go with the rest of the family, there are Young Shot Days for 10–18 year olds and the national CPSA Academy’s Shotgun Skills modules can be taken as part of the Duke of Edinburgh Awards and even a GCSE.
As well as clay pigeon shooting, there’s archery, air rifle activities, quad biking and more. Unusual idea for a day out, birthday, special occasion or a stag and hen party. Gift vouchers available.
