Muddy says: This 4-star independent hotel has been in the Michelin Guide since 1911, has over 100 gins in the bar – and one of the best views in the whole of the West Country.
This former posting house has been attracting guests for 600 years!
The four-star, independently owned Swan Hotel ticks so many boxes: an entry in the Michelin Guide since 1911, a well-stocked bar with over 100 gins and a fantastic view of the West Front of Wells Cathedral.
The hotel has a unique charm offering guests modern amenities in a beautiful and relaxed setting. Recently it has been sympathetically restored and extended, to ensure every comfort within its 49 bedrooms, luxurious suite and self contained apartments.
The Head Chef and kitchen brigade are proud to support Somerset suppliers. For the past seven years, the quality of food has been recognised with the award of 2 AA Rosettes.
Menus change with the seasons. Guests can choose from an all day menu packed with family favourites or enjoy a more formal 3-course dinner in the restaurant. The restaurant is open for lunch 12noon–2pm (12.30pm–2pm Sundays) and for dinner from 7pm–9.30pm.
During the summer, Swan Terrace (with its incredible Cathedral view) and the Walled Garden Café (a peaceful suntrap) are open for al fresco dining and drinking.
The hotel is also licensed to hold civil wedding ceremonies and offers private dining.
