Like a high end fashion car boot sale without the cars. Bloggers, stylists, boutique owners and journos selling re-loved and brand new clothes at knock down prices.
FESTIVAL: Longleat Sky Safari, Longleat, nr Warminster, Fri 14 – Sun 16 Sept
They’ll be attempting to create a UK record for the most hot air balloons in the sky during this three-day balloon fest. The flying menagerie of animals and night glows sound good too.

Have a snoop around the studios of established, new and emerging artist makers and discover hidden corners of our gorgeous county. Use their catalogue to plan an art jaunt around two or three and maybe end up in a village pub or cafe….

A chance to meet the woman behind Bramley, Somerset’s gorgeous natural beauty and skincare products – and have a nose around the brand new space at cool beauty salon Another Little World. 10am–12pm.

A day at the races, a night, not at the opera but with music from multi-million album selling James Blunt on his Afterlove tour, support from Tom Grennan. And the horses? They’re racing for the Bath Cup.
GARDENS: American Museum in Britain, Claverton, Sat 15 Sept onwards
They’ve spent two million quid on the new gardens showcasing the flora and fauna of the United States and they’ve got Alan Titchmarsh over to cut the tape on opening day, so someone really should go. Both the museum (the only one outside the US dedicated to American culture) and gardens will be free to visit on Sat 15 as part of Heritage Open Days.
FESTIVAL: Toby’s Garden & Harvest Festival, Forde Abbey, Chard, Sat 15 & Sun 16 Sept
TV gardener Toby Buckland celebrates the harvest, with celebrity garden talks (Guardian writer Alys Fowler, Gardener’s Question Time’s Matt Biggs, Blue Peter gardener Lee Connelly and actor (and gardener it turns out) John Challis from Only Fools and Horses; themed workshops in the Demo Tipi, loads of plant, craft and food stalls, circus skills and apple pressing (bring along your windfalls).
